Advertiser Credit

Advertiser Credit is an additional system feature that can be enabled in your Global Settings. This feature is commonly used by Advertisers to keep track of overall media spend and limit traffic based on credit, it can also be looked at as a type of Advertiser 'cap,' for networks and affiliates. You can also create an Employee Alert within your system to let yourself and your employees know when you are reaching your Advertiser Credit limit.

*** Two things to note when enabling Advertiser Credit ***

1) Once Advertiser Credit is enabled, it CAN NOT be disabled

2) If Advertiser Credit is enabled, you will not be able to change the Advertiser on any Offer, ever. These changes can not even be made on the backend.

Enabling Advertiser Credit

To enable this setting, click on the Settings main tab then the Global Settings button. Scroll down until you find "Enable Advertiser Credit," as shown below.

You will then be asked to choose a Start Date for the setting to go into effect. You will not be able to choose the day that you are enabling this setting.

Hard Cap On Credit Limit: Enabling this feature will create a hard cap for all Advertisers with a credit limit but can be overridden for an individual Advertiser, on the Advertiser card. The Hard Cap will force traffic to redirect to the Offer Redirect and Cake will not track any Conversions once the Credit has been reached.

By default, the hard cap feature is disabled.

*Again, once Advertiser Credit is enabled, it can not be disabled.*

Applying Credit To Advertisers

Once Credit has been enabled, Advertisers will default to a Credit Limit of Unlimited and a Prepaid Amount of $0.00. This implies that the Advertiser does not have a Cap based on money.

The "Credit Limit" amount can be viewed as "monopoly money" or a credit limit as you would see on a credit card. The "Prepaid Amount" will be actual money given to you by your Advertiser before you start running traffic to their offers.

Additionally, the Hard Cap on Credit Limit will default to the Global Setting, but can be overridden on the Advertiser level.

Applying Custom Credit To An Advertiser

To apply a Custom Credit Limit to an Advertiser, select Custom from the Credit Limit Option drop-down.
A Credit Limit text field will appear once Custom has been selected. Enter a numerical value and click Save.
This will be applied to Credit Remaining section on your Advertiser's card.

Applying A Prepaid Amount To An Advertiser

To apply a Prepaid Amount, click the "Add Manual Credit" button on the Advertiser Card. This Wizard can also be accessed by hovering over the "Advertiser" Main Tab > Credit / Balance > Add Credit.

The Add Credit To Advertiser Wizard will require Currency if Currency is enabled.
Enter the Payment Amount and an optional Invoice Number, Verification Code and Notes.

* Negative values can be entered to adjust prepayment amount if needed.

Once the Prepaid amount has been applied to the Advertiser, it will show in the Prepaid Amount field.

As you begin to run traffic to this Advertiser's offers, your "Prepaid Amount" will count down.
